Give the Best Gift Ever

This time of year the pressure is on to give the best gifts to the people you love. This one is Eco-friendly Personal, and Creative. It’s The Psychedelic Pat!

You do not have to be a Massage Therapist to do The Psychedelic Pat! Everyone who is willing to tap into exploring rhythm is qualified.

Apply Generously with Consent!

The receiver sits on a tall stool. The giver finds a groove patting to a beat on the seated person’s back and shoulders. Find rhythm and pressure that works for both of you.

Try an open palm, a loose fist, or drumming fingers. Or the classic karate chop. Just be sure your intention if for this to feel good to the person receiving! Watch the clock and try for a full 5 minutes for the most psychedelic effect.

Tapotement is drumming with different parts of your hand/arm, and it is a widely used massage technique. The technique was probably invented hundreds of thousands of years ago.

Kidneys are located at the sides of the low back lower than the rib cage. Avoid drumming over this area. Pay attention to the intensity of your drumming in general and look for how this is feeling to the receiver. Never drum more intensely than is comfortable.

The Giver is Also the Receiver!

Giving a back rub can be beneficial! Get an immune system boost, increased brain power, regulated heart-rate and blood pressure, reduced pain, and more! It can feel so good to give a massage. There are scientifically guaranteed benefits to giving and receiving consensual touch. Be sure to be present with your body as you give a massage, and do not give more than feels good to your body.

Massage for your friends and family can be a nurturing, bonding, creative, expressive experience. Before giving or receiving a massage check in with yourself. Is this right for you right now? Consider the option to ask someone for a massage instead.
